Small refinery, network of petrol stations and social facilities will be built in the Karaganda region

The cost of the project for the construction of a low-tonnage refinery in the Karaganda region exceeds 300 billion tenge. The readiness of the project was announced by the Singapore investor, the press service of the regional administration informed.

Nuances of the project are discussed at the meeting chaired by the head of the Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov. After that, the group of companies Abylaihan and Singaporean partners from the firm R Way Solution PTE Ltd signed an agreement.

"We are bringing a direct oil cluster to Kazakhstan. The Novonezhinskoye field is located in the Kostanay region. In the village of Atasu, a low-tonnage refinery will be built, with a capacity of up to 1 million tonnes of oil per year. It is also planned to build a network of gas stations and roadside service facilities," Amir Ismagulov, chairman of the board of the Abylaihan group of companies said.

The project is planned to be implemented from 2018 to 2021. The company intends to build 260 filling stations using green technologies. Of these, 26 are in the Karaganda region. The initiators of the project promise that they will refuel vehicles with all types of fuel, including electric vehicles.

"The whole line of finished products of the Atasu refinery will meet the requirements of the Euro-5 standard," Amir Ismagulov said.

In addition, the company will build a residential town in Atasu for employees of the refinery and a kindergarten and a polyclinic.
