Alongside with the 10th Jubilee Kazakhstan International Exhibition of Energy, Electrical Equipment and Machine Building - Power Kazakhstan 2011, two more expo events are taking place: Lighting Kazakhstan 2011 - Lighting, Lighting Engineering and LED Technologies and ReEnergy Kazakhstan 2011 - Renewable Energy Sources, Power Conservation, Energy Efficiency and Resource Saving.
The Forum of Power Engineers raises burning issues of the status and development prospects of power and heat engineering, deployment of innovative power equipment at Kazakhstan enterprises; enhancing energy efficiency and power conservation; and increasing the share of renewable energy sources.
Taking place in two Atakent Exhibition Centre’s pavilions in Almaty on 1-3 November 2011, the exhibitions has brought together over 120 companies from 15 countries of the world. Innovations, Power- and Resource-Saving Technologies will be the exposition keynote and a central topic of the Forum of Power Engineers.
This year’s aggregate exposition boasts a record-setting number of exhibiting countries: Austria, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, South Korea, and Ukraine. Domestic companies take the lead in terms of the number of exhibitors accounting for 35% of the exposition. Companies from Russia also enjoy a large-scale presence, which makes up 22% of the exposition.
The world’s leading companies participating in the exhibitions demonstrate equipment, technologies and services for the needs of Kazakhstan’s power complex, while experts from the Kazakhstan national companies KEGOC JSC and Samruk-Energo JSC will hold a series of meetings with prospective suppliers at their stands. Also taking part in these expo events are representatives of the Kazakhstan Electricity Association and the Union of Power Engineers.
Three countries – China, Czech Republic and Germany – are represented by National Stands incorporating over 30 companies. Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, InterElectro Secretariat, CzechTrade, and Czech and Moravian Electrical and Electronic Association are coming to Almaty to take part in the business agenda and hold negotiations.
The Forum of Power Engineers held at the Holiday Inn Almaty on 1 November was opened by Bakhytzhan Dzhaksaliyev, Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan. Mr. Dzhaksaliyev made a report on Innovations and Technology Transfer – Development Prospects of Kazakhstan’s Power Engineering. In all, over 40 speakers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, and the United States take part in the Forum. Keynote reports of the Plenary Session will focus on power conservation and energy efficiency. The Forum Sessions will dwell upon the following range of issues: Development Prospects of Renewable Energy Sources, Security Challenges in Power Engineering, Power Engineering and Applied Innovative Developments.
The Forum of Power Engineers is the main business event for power industry professionals. Every year, the Forum is attended by more than 150 Kazakhstan and foreign power industry experts, including CEOs of regional electricity grid and generating companies, energy providers, system and centralised auction operators, representatives of industry-wise scientific research and design institutes, power engineers of major industrial consumer enterprises, etc.
The business agenda of the exhibitions is expected to be informative and saturated. On Day One, the Workshop Room (Pavilion 9В, Stand 87) will be hosting workshops by Aster Electro (Russia) and Patent-Double (Kazakhstan), as well as a presentation of Czech companies exhibiting at Power Kazakhstan 2011. On Day Two, the Workshop Room will accommodate workshops by SERGI France (France), SverdlovElectro Group (Russia), AMS Commerce (Kazakhstan), and EnergoInform (Kazakhstan).
The fivefold growth in the number of exhibitors and the eightfold increase in the exhibition area over the past 10 years – these are the achievements of Power Kazakhstan, Central Asia’s key international-level event in power industry.
Since its inception, Power Kazakhstan’s exposition has increased eight times, from 300 square metres occupied in the lobby of the Ankara Hotel (now InterContinental) to 2,400 square metres at a modern exhibition centre, Atakent.
Launched in 2002, the Power Kazakhstan Exhibition has since then been increasingly gaining popularity among power experts of Kazakhstan, CIS and foreign countries. From the very beginning, Power Kazakhstan has been officially supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technologies of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company (KEGOC JSC), Almaty City Akimat, Kazakhstan Electricity Association (KEA), Union of Power Engineers, and Union of Engineering Companies.
The General Sponsor of Power Kazakhstan 2011 is Vestas Central Europe, which intends in the near future to invest about EUR 200 million in wind energy development projects in Kazakhstan and arrange construction of wind power plants with a capacity up to 500 MW.
The Organisers of Power Kazakhstan are Iteca, a domestic exhibition company, together with ITE Group Plc (UK), GIMA (Germany), and ITE China (China).
The stable development of Kazakhstan’s power sector allowed Iteca Exhibition Company to launch a number of new projects in power industry. The year 2009 saw the inception of two projects in Astana: KazAtomExpo - Nuclear Power Engineering and Industry and Power Astana - Energy, Electrical Equipment and Machine Building. This year, Lighting Kazakhstan and ReEnergy Kazakhstan get started in Almaty to share venue with Power Kazakhstan.
The Organisers are confident that these expo events are a reflection of all tendencies and trends of the world and, certainly, domestic power industry. Such vigorous dynamics of Power Kazakhstan is the most vivid demonstration of Kazakhstan’s positive achievements.
