MWM presents powerful gas engines for decentralized energy generation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia

MWM—whose headquarters and production facilities are located in Mannheim, Germany—has been active in Eastern Europe and Central Asia for more than 20 years and is represented in this region by the subsidiary MWM Austria GmbH. The company was founded in Schwaz, Austria, in 2008. Since then, a highly motivated team from the fields of sales, project management, and services has been working on the realization of innovative and highly efficient gas engine-based cogeneration plants for distributed power generation. Together with its branch in Almaty, MWM Austria has been able to continuously increase the access to and supply of MWM gas engines and generator sets as well as to develop the range of services in the entire region.

The MWM product portfolio comprises gas engines and gensets in the output range from 400 kWel to 4,500 kWel. In this way, it is possible to set up power plants with an output of up to 100,000 kWel and more.

The gas engines can be operated with various types of gas, such as natural gas, associated petroleum gas, propane gas, mine gas, biogas, landfill gas, sewage gas, and syngas. They are designed for maximum electrical and thermal efficiency, low operating and service costs, and high reliability and availability. Thus they achieve efficiency of over 90 percent.

Over 1,200 delivered gas engines with a total electrical output of more than 2 GW to customers in this region, making MWM one of the most successful importers of gas engines in the output range from 1 to 5 MW.
