Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
For the first time, Kazakhstan is going to host the first Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference KazAtomExpo 2010, what is an important event in atomic industry.
Kazakhstan is known to be the world’s leading country in explored reserves of uranium. In 2009, Kazakhstan became the world’s top uranium producer, having produced about 14,000 tons. In the State programme of the industrial development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the years 2010-2014 in the framework of the development of atomic industry is provided setup of a complete vertically integrated nuclear fuel cycle complex. To achieve the goal, all missing links in the nuclear fuel cycle are being added – uranium conversion and enrichment, and fuel assembly production.
By 2020, in Kazakhstan is planned to commission one nuclear power station on the territory of the country.
The 1st Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference KazAtomExpo 2010 will provide appropriate conditions to further the development of Kazakhstan’s nuclear power industry, establish business contacts, expand sales markets, and promote investment projects, technologies and equipment.
Exhibitors include leading nuclear power enterprises, while the conference is going to become a venue for specialists of the nuclear power industry, engineering and allied sectors.
The fact enterprises are deeply interested in KazAtomExpo 2010 suggests leadership of Kazakhstan’s nuclear power in the world and demonstrates the interest in further development of its production and scientific facilities, investment plans, and international cooperation.
May the guests and exhibitors of KazAtomExpo 2010 enjoy a constructive work!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company, KEGOC JSC, and myself, I would like to welcome guests and participants of the 1st Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference on Nuclear Power Engineering and Industry – KazAtomExpo 2010! Today, power engineering is a critical driver of the world progress. Nuclear power is supposed to make the most important contribution in meeting power needs and ensuring a sustainable social and economic development of the humankind in the 21st century. The world experience demonstrates that in the nearest, as well as distant future, Kazakhstan can hardly solve power problems unless it uses nuclear power.
Nuclear power engineering is an important and dynamic science, and one of the most promising ways of power development. Kazakhstan will not stay off this global trend. By 2020, the Government of Kazakhstan plans to commission at least one nuclear power station, and preparations are already carried out.
For the first time, Astana, as the Capital of Kazakhstan, is receiving leading companies and experts of the nuclear power industry and machine building.
Meeting the demand in electric energy and providing sustainable social and economic development of mankind in the nearest future is inseparable with usage of nuclear technologies.
Considering enormous natural resources, existing infrastructure for output and production of uranium, the Government of the country gives special consideration to the issues of development of atomic industry.
I am sure that conducting KazAtomExpo 2010 will enhance international cooperation and mutually beneficial collaboration.
May all participants and guests of the 1st Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference on Nuclear Power Engineering and Industry – KazAtomExpo 2010 enjoy a constructive work!
Undoubtedly, KazAtomExpo 2010 will enhance scientific, technical and economic cooperation in using “atom for peace” and offer new outlooks for collaboration in this area. Equipment and technologies for nuclear power, electrical engineering and power engineering presented at the exhibition provide an opportunity to evaluate the current level of the industry in the world.
The exhibition and conference will undoubtedly enhance international cooperation between specialists working for peaceful use of nuclear power, and contribute in addressing major issues faced by the Kazakhstan nuclear sector.
May all participants and guests of the 1st Kazakhstan International Exhibition and Conference on Nuclear Power Engineering and Industry – KazAtomExpo 2010 enjoy a constructive work!
