The Kazakhstan Electricity Association (KEA) is а non-governmental, non-profit organization, officially registered with the judicial authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 7, 1999. The Association includes thirty three (33) corporate members, representing power generating and electric networks companies, large industrial customers, branch research and designing institutes, energy equipment manufacturers and other companies. The KEA has been established for the following purposes: to coordinate the activities and protect the common interests of electric utilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan, support all the organizations whose activities are connected with the operations of the sector, draft governmental programs, legislative documents and other legal documents pertaining to the operations of the industry, organize forums, conferences and meetings aimed at improving the understanding of industry problems, represent and protect the interests of its members.
